They always say you should always let your dog off the lead so it can run and feel safe! however, I don't agree. We have 5 greyhounds and if I sense any one of them might be going to react to a dog I always tighten the lead so they are by me and stand very still - that normally works - it is so irresponsible of other dog owners to let their dogs run at others - but just try to remain calm with your dog. hopefully this is of some help x

Did you swop him over gradually or just change him from one to the other? Is he the 12 year old?

Ok- if you've checked he's healthy then you should introduce new food gradually so their system gets used to it ... usually by adding say a quarter of the new to 3/4 of the old and mixing them up and over a week or two (guauge by the poos how they are coping with the new food) reduce the amounts of the old and increase the new till you're feeding all new. If he needs more weight you may need to add something like pilchards or cornflakes or fatty lamb meat but he should increase his weight slowly .. I love Burns food but it does tend to keep them leaner rather than fat (which is usually good).

Like us dogs can have intolerances to any food or ingredient so it may be you need to avoid chicken even or rice .. we have found both to cause hyperactivity, aggression, nervousness etc in some greys. Personally I avoid any dog food that is brightly coloured or has lots of cereal or sugars in them ...

Hope he's better now

j x
Hi

He's an old boy, 12 is a great age and he's done very well to get thro an Anaesthetic ... my girl at 10 took quite a while to recover from an anasethetic then we found they damaged discs during the op so she was in pain too which was why she stopped eating :(

If he's still losing weight especially if he's being sick I'd be back at your vet and asking for more tests and maybe xrays to make sure there's nothing else going on .. yes I'm sure they could be allergic to peanut butter but I'd cross off other health issues off as well as stopping the peanut butter. I didn't know till I'd lost my last lurcher but vets can give you a very concentrated dog food which has all the dogs needs in a small amount which may help. Otherwise I'd split his normal food plus another third into four or five portions then I'd be giving him four or five very small feeds a day with things like a little crushed cornflakes on which is very fattening but to put weight on slowly.

I'd check out he's not in any discomfort which would make him lose weight .. good luck with him, hope he's now ok.

j x
We have had our greyhound for about 3 months now. Initially she lost her kennel coat, as she was adopted from kennels, and we knew this would happen as she has always been kennelled.

Her coat was lovely, and shiny, but in the last week she is losing loads of fur all over her body. Her tummy is now bald, her hind legs are getting bald, and when we stroke her loads, and I do mean loads of fur is coming off her. Her bed, and the carpet where she lies is covered in her fur. This has not happened before.

Can anyone tell us, is it just that time of year when dogs lose their coat, or could it be stress related ? We didn't think that greyhounds malted.

Any advice would be appreciated as we are worried about her.
Dont worry, Just use Leimo Hair Loss Products and it will solve your problems..

We have a new greyhound (Goldie) who has been with us for 2 days now... he is quite scared of the laminate and has slipped on it a couple of times - when he get excited really. Our plan is to act as if nothing is wrong and see if he gets used to it before we jump to getting rugs etc as we don't want him to be scared of it. (He was OK at first, the bit about walking on his claws makes sense)
